Thanks, Greess01! It's a great place to fly. We are lucky as a club to have such a wide open spot. Its a 60 acre +/-  and surrounded by woods. It's off the main road so we don't have to worry about flying over traffic or endangering anyone if we fly "out of bounds".

Is this where Montee's event will be in april?   Looks very nice and open. thinking about making the long drive.  Could be a replacement for birmingham.Won't be back from china in time for b'ham, which I was looking forward to :(  Need a replacement.

No, that's the VARCHA field. About an hour North of where the event is being held. You should come out!

The Fredericksburg field is very nice. Spring Fling is definitely worth the trip! Those guys do it right. Here's a shot from last fall looking up the front flight line. There's another flight line on the back side of the property where the light towers hang out for them loong nitro nights ;) lol

I always enjoy pictures from the front flight line. That one is nice.
Funny how the barn almost always makes it in the shot.

I love the way nitro smoke looks at dusk and dawn. so cool.

I like that canopy also, looks very good in low light. I have had a few of that one, but my favorite for dusk and dawn flying is my pink canopy! you can see that dang thing anywhere. I very rarely fly with a canopy these days though, I have gotten so used to not flying with one that is feels odd having on one now. the heli sounds different with a canopy on it too, so I am always hearing new sounds I am not accustom to...lol

Wow! flying this heli is a BLAST! This past Sunday I got 5 flights in for a total time in the air of 45 minutes! I started increasing my timer on my Tx and am now at a comfortable 9-10 minutes of flight! This heli flies very smooth and quiet. It is balanced very well and rolls with precision!. I am so happy with this heli it's incredible!

If you're primarily using one rpm, then timers work Ok. Using various rpms switched back and forth during flight, the flight time can vary dramatically. for instance, at 1750 the entire flight I only get half the flight time I do when at 1250 to entire flight. Yes, it's an enormous difference. That's why i went to telemetry for capacity utilization a couple years ago.  Using the sm-modelbau unisens devices.  fly however you want, flipping back and forth between rpms, and you get alarmed when capacity is used, rather than some arbitrary time. Flights can go 8 or 9 minutes, or 14~15 minutes,.. and you always know when the "tank" is almost empty :)

Made reservations for the spring fling. Unless something comes up between now and then, Josh and I are looking forward to it!

Yeah, I've been using the E-fuel gauge (http://shop.tje.dk/catalog/) on my electrics for a while now.  It's nice knowing that no matter how I fly, the batteries are going to come down with the same amount of energy.  I changed my timer to count up with no alarm so that I can see how many minutes of flight time I'm getting.  What's cool about that is that it really lets you see how different types of flight affect flight time.
