How about to the front canopy mounts?
I use the
QuickUK magnetic mounts for T-Rex 700N. Unfortunately, they don't seem to make these any more. I've read some post on HeliFreak stating that the
QuickUK straight magnetic studs for T-Rex 700E work well, but I have not tried them.
If I were to build another E5 or E7SE, I would consider trying the front canopy mounts used on the Synergy N7 and the new Synergy 766
Do you happen to have a link to the turnbuckles you'd recommend?
I am using the M3 thread size Lunsford titanium turnbuckles from Amain. I am using the
LNS1165 turnbuckles (38.1mm) for the servos-to-swash links, and the
LNS1168 turnbuckles (47.63mm) for the two swash-to-blade grip links. I used different turnbuckle lengths compared to stock rod lengths in an effort to maximize thread going into the plastic links but without bottoming out (see pic below). The
Synergy 107-100 plastic links can accommodate 13mm worth of link thread.
If you decide to use M3 thread size turnbuckles with the stock
Synergy 107-100 plastic links that are made for M2.5 thread size, you will need to widen the inner hole with a drill bit.
I purchased the Lunsford turnbuckles before learning of
Ralph's FBL Rotors turnbuckles. If I were starting from scratch, I would buy the turnbuckles from Ralph. If you already have M3 turnbuckles and do not want to widen the Synergy plastic links with a drill bit, you have the option of purchasing
links with M3 size holes from Ralph.
Notice how I did not use a turnbuckle link on the rear/elevator servo. I set the rear/elevator link to specification as per the manual, and used turnbuckles on the right and left aileron servos to level the swash.
