Batt tray
« on: February 23, 2016, 02:44:59 PM »
My battery tray seems quite tight sliding it in and out. The rails are nice and straight. Anyone had to sand the edges of the CF tray or is it supposed to be that tight?

No reason for it to be tight as long as the rails are pulled in tight to the frames. Go ahead and take a tiny bit off just dont go crazy all at once. Tight is better than sloppy loose

Mine was a hair tight too, but once I strapped a battery on it its not so bad. Slides pretty easy actually. Without the pack on, its a snug fit. I prefer a tight fit personally  8)

I agree with Dan, they are going to be a little tight, like a new pair of shoes, gotta break them in a bit before they feel comfortable. Sand lightly and rock and roll 😎 first 766 was just right , 806 alittle snug, like you said Aaron, alittle tight is good.. Enjoy that beast..

Thanks guys, I will try some light sanding. All I have left to do is build the tail and setup. Blades come tomorrow. With a little cooperation from mother nature, hopefully maiden this weekend..

I also noted the tray was tight in the tracks. I pulled them out to confirm what the issue might be. Both of the tracks are tight on the tray even when not installed on the airframe. I did sand the tray edges a bit. Also warmed up the tracks a bit with a heat gun and then slid them back and forth on the tray. That has helped.
Cheers

Well, after a long delay due to a snowboarding accident, she's finally done. Now if it stops raining here I'll get a maiden in...
