Main Gear / Pinion

Rchelipastor:
Hey Guys, I just watched Mr Sextons awesome synergy 766 build video and have a question from something I saw. So far, I've been doing my build exactly as his, I even have the same motor as his (scorpion 4530 500kv). I am at the point where the motor has been mounted and the mesh was set but I cannot spin the main gear like he can with my bear hands. The only way to spin the main gear is by hand turning the motor because everything seems very snug. Is something wrong? I even double checked the seating of the pinion on the support bearing...should I be concerned? Thanks in advance!

Chris Sexton:
Hello!

Can you turn the main shaft? Is the one way bearing hanging up or is it that you can't turn the main gear once the motor mesh is set?

I can, it takes a good grip, but I can....have I done something wrong? BTW, your video is amazingly done.

Chris Sexton:
I'm wondering if the owb is sticking. With the motor backed away it should spin free. Let me upload a video I made on me fine tuning the owb on one of mine. Sec.

Ok here you go. Keep in mind these videos were created back in November when I was helping test the first Alpha kits. My owb was sticking in autos so I pulled the assembly and checked. What I found was my bushings on either side of the owb needed a little sanding to smooth out their operation.

Ignore the audio. ;) but this is how the owb and main shaft should be.

And finished and back in the Heli.
