Canopy hole for key chain

How big is the hole in the canopy for the key chain supposed to be? Right now the hole isn't even big enough for the key chain to fit thru let alone the grommet too. I got a drill ready to go. I just need to know what bit to put into it. Thanks.

I use a canopy reamer to slowly open the hole. Step drills work too.

Don't have a reamer or stereo drill. That reminds me that I need to get a set of step drills. A 15/64" drill bit seems to have did the trick though.

Yeah.. I don't recall the exact size I used.. I just matched up the dia of the male keychain piece, and selected the next bit size... I really need a reamer as well.

7.5mm (19/64) is the correct hole size. Make sure you run your drill backwards for drilling into the painted fiberglass or use a step drill.

A tapered reamer works well. I made a mark on mine at the correct spot on the taper. I cut from both the inside and outside to avoid cracking the clear coat.
Cheers
