516 Stretch Kit. Factory Recommended Setup ?

Hi, Is there a recommended power setup with the Stretch parts installed ? We know it will use 550 blades. But is it better to change the motor, esc, battery setup to 8S or 10S ? And if so what mah batteries ?

Hi, Is there a recommended power setup with the Stretch parts installed ? We know it will use 550 blades. But is it better to change the motor, esc, battery setup to 8S or 10S ? And if so what mah batteries ?

I’m not an expert on the stretch. I know it was a 12s setup with the prototype. So I know I would have to put a new esc like a HH130. And if it’s 12s, possibly a new motor lower kv, maybe? I’m waiting to see what synergy recommends. They have a lot of pilots with lots of flight preferences. I’m gonna look towards a 6s setup with a HH120 and see what motors they recommend for 12 or 6s setup on a 556 stretch. I know people have put the talon 90 on 550 class with no issues. Gotta wait and see. Matt is just finding a better deal on the belt before he sells it to the consumer. Wish I had more info.

Oh and for the 12s setup I believe they used 2x 6s 3300mah. Go to YouTube search 516 stretch. I believe rob cherry is flying his prototype

I guess a lot of guys are going to keep it on 6S. It is probably the way I would go.

Synergy has a 18 and20 tooth tail pulley. I am not too sure if I would need to change it?

If you aren’t on rc heli hangout on Facebook you should be. All the synergy guys are on there so is synergy rc. It looks like you can keep the motor 4020 1350kv, but change the pinion to 16t. As for the tail if you are keeping the 80.6 blades buy the 18t pulley to speed the tail up. If you buy the 96 tail blades leave it stock 20t.

Hobbywing Platinum Pro 120A V4
Pulse 6S 4500 65C
Rail 556 mains
Rail 80.6 tails, 18T tail pulley

2300-2400rpm
