autorotation gear mesh
« on: April 12, 2020, 06:09:33 PM »
Hello, I am building my second Synergy, and the first nitro in many years - I love nitro!. My question is setting the autorotation gear mesh at the transmission to the tail drive shaft. I have the engine/clutch lined up and meshing well with no backlash on the main gear. Is it satisfactory to  loosen the three bolts on each side of the assembly that houses the tail transmission gear, rotate the autorotation gear several times, then tighten the bolts?
Thank you.
Anthony

Hi Anthony,
If you are using the stock 35t gear, the transmission should be slid back to the rear. There is generally 1mm or less of backlash from my experience. If you feel its too much backlash, slide it forward just a hair, but make sure the mesh is not tight. The geartain on this heli is very smooth.

Hope this helps!
