On my past 550's I used the Neu 1907h/1y 1400Kv and Castle Creations Phoenix ICE 100A ESC on 6s 5000mAh. I used the CC GOV at 2650 RPM ... They where a BEAST! I have this setup on the work bench ready to go in the E5 ASAP!

Still hesitating between HK4025-1100 and same HKIII.
There is only 54 $US but is there so much technical difference ? Heat ? Power ?

I went with the HKIII, but mainly for the shaft.  The E5 has a bearing block on the far side of the pinion.  The HKII has a shorter shaft, but they offer a longer shaft for the HKII.  The HKIII comes with the longer shaft and a few other improvements.  If you get an HKII and the longer shaft, you will have close to the price of an HKIII, but you will still have to press the long shaft in the motor.

I have changed my original plan of Pyro 600-11 and purchased an HKIII 4025 kit which will hand wound.
Going with same Kv of ~1100 but in 1.5 or 1.6mm in YY termination.
This way I'll end up with a one off 4025LE. Going to be running 60C packs to feed this little monster.

I will run the P600 to start as it sounds E5 will be here before motor will.
Might be looking to sell the Pyro if anyone is interested. Peaked5500 Watt on my Logo 500 so it's no slouch.

I have seen people mention the "hand wound" thing before.  Could someone explain this to me?

There are many factors in making power and torq with an electric motor. One of the key components is the wire that is wound throughout the motor. You can change copper thickness and winding pattern and change the output and kv of a motor. When someone says they have a hand mound motor that is just that. They have had the motor remount by hand to a custom configuration.

Generally if the person doing the winding knows what they are doing, you can increase both torq and cooling of the windings at the same time.

Chris summed it up pretty well.
Advantage to a hand wind is to get wire diameters and terminations that cannot be automated by machine.

Most stock winds will be with multi strand thin wire which has higher resistance than a solid larger diameter but easy to do be machine and reduce production cost. Most are also terminated in Delta configuration. This is also easier to automate unlike a more efficient Y or YY winds.

Lot's of potential with a hand wind for more power, better cooling and higher efficiency as well as being easier on your ESC.

Thanks for the info!  So how would I request to have it hand wound?
