About the only frustrating thing on the N5c build is the installation of the fan shroud. I have come up with a solution that makes it an absolute breeze to get done.
1. Install the frame spacers that the 3 X 12 fan shroud bolt will go into between the frame halves.
2. Install a 3 X 6 mm bolt with a washer on the exhaust side of the frame into each of the frame spreaders. Snug them down fairly good.
3. Install the non exhaust half of the fan shroud. The spreaders will stay in place while you do this due to the bolts on the other side. Tighten as normal. You may want to substitute 10mm long bolts in place of the 12mm bolts. The longer bolts seem to bottom out in the spreader before getting fully tight.
4. Remove the short bolts from the exhaust side of the frame and install the remaining half of the fan shroud.
I did not use washers when I took the picture and my frame got a little chewed up by the bolt head. Lesson learned.
