E7 First Flights...
« on: June 04, 2012, 01:25:29 PM »
All,

First several flights on my Synergy E7 this weekend.  Setup

E7 Edge Blades
Hacker 470 KV with 14T pinion
CC 160 ESC
V-Bar
JR 8717 HV Servos
TP 4400 MAH Packs.

I was very impressed, the machine tracks better than anything I have flown.   The controls are responsive but not overly sensitive.   The power was strong and lasted the entire flight.

I have read all the reviews and accolades, and did not believe it until I flew it...one of the best helis I have ever flown.

Great Job on Engineering this Heli Matt!!!   My name is already on the list for a 550.

Congrats on the successful maiden! The E7 is a great bird. And take it from me, they crash well. Even when you use them as chainsaws. ;)

I saw your post on HF post crash, I was surprised it did not take out the gears on the servos.  I was thinking that the direct coupling of the servos to the swashplate is one of the biggest reason why the model tracks so well, but also it would seem, that during a crash the servo gears would break. As the stand to take the brunt of the crash.  Just my thoughts

Still flys great.

I have balled my E6 and E7 between the two about 3 times and I not yet stripped out a servo. What find is the Futaba servo wheel will strip out.

I am running JR Servos, with QUICK UK Links, so no Carbon Fiber arm to break.   Good to know that it is not always destroying the servos
