Different pack for mounting
« on: August 27, 2012, 03:13:32 PM »
I tried something a little different when I put together my E7 packs. I have them mounted on plywood with heat shrink. Before mounting the packs though, I slotted the plate for my straps. The slots line up with the cut outs in the bottom frame plate. The straps simply loop around the frame supports below the bottom plate. The packs are easy to insert after you get used to it and they are quite secure.

Great idea! I may try that with some lexan.  Hoping Ralph gets his trays out soon though.

Nice, even easier Ralph from FBL Rotors is doing a special battery mounting plate which will soon be available. Saw the prototype at IRCHA.

I am also waiting on Ralph's tray- just too cool to not have. This was a quick and cheap stop-gap that turned out pretty well. Ralph's is really nice since you will be able to easily remove 1 pack for the low head speed stuff when you want.
