Title: Am I an aggressive caveman when it comes to the keychain grommets on my 516?
Post by: earlybird0513 on July 23, 2018, 06:57:42 AM
I’ve had 13 flights on my 516. Ive had to change the front grommets 3times now. Anybody having an issue with this or do I need to work on my canopy skills;-)
I’m looking at 110-418 rubber grommets to maybe replace the stock 305-126 grommet. Is that worth it. Or again I should work on my canopy skill?

Did you ream the holes in the canopy?

I might try that. The grommets went in good. Put my dremmel to some use

So others that read this post may know, what size are you reaming the hole too?

I haven’t done it yet. But I’ll probably just lightly trim the diameter with my dremmel. It probably only needs a very small amount removed.

I have a reamer specifically marked for the synergy grommet hole size. I also have found that moving the holes slightly away from each other with an Xacto knive prior to enlarging helps with fitment.
I've mounted a canopy or two.. Lol

Cheers

Got that reaming tool from your site helilids. 9mm is a great diameter to fit those grommets on. I find those rubber grommets are gonna hold up longer with the 9mm hole. Thxs
