White 3m tape?  I haven't seen that one before.  I will use the 3m I've had, it has been pretty strong.  So you aren't putting the Velcro around the bec too then? I thought from Rich's pics he had the strap around the esc and BEC.  Oh, what length of zip will be sufficient for the frames/electronics.  I think I have 4 inch but its time to buy more, just wondering if I need a longer set.

On my BEC I just used a small zip tie because it fit between the heat sync rows and didn't cover any of them up. I just have an array of zip ties in a jar, usually in black so they blend in and pick a size that fits the occasion.

How you want to secure it is more up to you and what you feel comfortable with. I just took the theory that the more air that can get to it the better to keep it cool.

Greg, I use Velcro (sticky back) on the BEC, ESC, BUG, Vbar Unit (not the sensor).  I use 3M tape for the receiver satellites as well as the FBL sensor.  Additional I use a Velcro strap that goes around the ESC and BEC.

Velcro, not 3M?  So there is no fear of it coming off then?

I usually put velcro on the back of my ESC and BEC, this helps hold them in place and is easy to remove if you need to.  I also put a hook and loop strap around them for added security. Zip ties work great too!

double sided tape isn't a bad idea, I just tend to tinker with my setups and if I had to replace tape every time I would get frustrated.

As I said, my E5 is a copy of Matt's with the exception of my collective servos and FBL Unit.  If Velcro holds for him I have no fear of ever shaking it loose.  Velcro also makes things much easier to work on.  Don't forget the Velcro strap around the ESC and BEC, it provides extra security.

Guess it will work for me then too!  Maybe I'll get to that point Monday or Tuesday.  Depends on if I get to the frame tonight.

E5 wiring photos.  If you click on the paperclip below the photos they will be downloaded. If you click on the photo once, a larger image is displayed. The last three pictures have wiring explanations.

Rich would you mind getting another photo angle of the ESC wires to the motor? My wires are long and Im debating cutting them down a bit so I can plug them in without bunching up against the CC BEC PRO. Problem is I'm out of 4mm female bullets (already put some on). Looks like your ate wrapping it around and up, but looks like the wires are touching the top of the motor.

Added new photos as requested.   ;D  I cut my ESC wires, they are about 2 1/2" to the end of the bullet connector (on the motor side).  I use Scorpion 6.5mm connectors on the motor to ESC connection.  You really should remove the factory  banana plugs that are installed on the Scorpion HKIII 4025 1100kv.  I found using a connector like the Scorpion 6.5 bullets improved current flow (better connection / more surface area) and reduced ESC temperatures.

Rich is definitely the man. He helps so many, wish there were more people like that in the world.  Matt needs to make him Team Synergy even if Rich says no.  Out of all the helicopter brands I've flown I have need met a group of individuals that want to help like the Synergy fam.

I found getting ESC and motor wire lengths just right one of the more challenging parts of the build.  My KDE motor had pretty long wires and I'm using GensAce 5300 batteries that are really tall and barely fit under the ESC plate.  That combined with the CC Pro under the plate makes for a very tight space to route the wires and place the connectors in the S-bend of the wiring.

Sadly I'll need to redo all this as it appears my ESC is defective and giving me unwelcome cut outs.  The resulting auto yesterday resulted in broken landing gear since my head speed had dropped so much during the pitch pump and I was low with no forward speed.  So far, two forced autos in the first two batteries on this bird.  (First one due to not hitting Reset during the V-Bar governor setup and having throttle cuts on left rolls.)

Man sorry that happened.  Anyone else having issues with Castle Creations?  Some told me to go with a jive for less issues, hopefully this is an isolated instance And CC replaces it for you. Do you have a spare set of landing gear?

Rich, are you sure the problem is with the CC ESC and not in the configuration of the V-Bar governor or the sensor you are using?  I'm not implying the CC isn't bad,  I'm just trying to understand what is actually happening as you said "my head speed had dropped so much during the pitch pump"  this would be a function of the governor not properly maintaining your head speed.  Was this the maiden flight or did the problem just surface?
