Ikon Help
« on: January 20, 2014, 07:41:58 PM »
Hey ya'll, I normally fly with the CGY 750 but a friend talked me into trying one. However after the complete set up. When I perform the test at the end the swash corrects the wrong way. It moves with the tilt not against it.

I use a Futaba 8FG with an SBus receiver on an E5s.

Hello!

I have a couple of questions.

1. Does the swash respond to input correctly?
IE Left aileron tilt left, forward elevator tilt forward?
2. Does pitch travel correctly?

If all of these are true, then go back into the setup and on the 9th tab of the basic setup wizard, double check that your ikon is oriented the way you choose.  This orientation combined with assuming you have correct travels is how the ikon knows which way to compensate for.

Yes Chris all is correct elevator, aileron and pitch. I have the unit mounted top up, wires back and that orientation selected in the set up.

Okay so, I have mounted the box top up and wires back. I changed the selection to top up wires forward and now the swash corrects as it should. So Ikon built this unit orientated the wrong way?

How about the swash setup page? Do you have the right type of swash, not only 120 but with elevator servo in the back? That makes a difference too.

Does the elevator comp correctly?  Before you swapped the orientation that is.

If it were me, I wouldn't like running with orientation set wrong.  It would bug me.  I would factory reset the ikon, double check that the servos are in the right place. ON the iKON with the elevator servo in the rear, Right side aileron is servo 1, elevator is 2, and left side aileron is servo 3.  I have seen comps be wrong when 1 and 3 are mistakenly reversed. But this will also throw off your servo travel directions.

Yes the swash moves correctly in every direction in either orientation. Just the swash corrects wrong when the unit is set to top up, wires back as mounted. If I set it to top up wires forward (not mounted that way) everything still moves correctly and the swash corrects the right way. I will do a reset again and start from scratch one more time. I have contacted Ikon and they believe that I need to do a reset as well. So we will see.

Make sure that the travels move in the correct direction in the TX page of the basic wizard. Matt
