806 gears
« on: January 25, 2020, 08:16:24 PM »
going to build in the 806 configuration. Can someone tell me the gears I will need?
It looks like I need to change the Motor pinion, Tail gear and Main gear.
I have not gotten the Motor yet, was thinking of getting Xnova Lightning 4535-460KV
And using a Gens Ace 12S LiPo Battery Stick 60C (44.4V/5000mAh)
I haven't received the kit yet but am trying to get the upgrade parts now.

You'll find information for all the build options at the end of the 766 manual.

It covers 12s and 14s systems, different  motor kv and pinion combinations for various target headspeeds and tail drive recommendations.

Good luck with your build.

I have one. Built so long ago that I don't remember, I'm sure I followed what is written in the instructions.

Good luck.

If youre going  806 then i would use at lease 500-520kv a 460kv seems to be beter for a 14s setup

The most important info that you need is what headspeeds are you planning to run. Myself I would be running a 450-470kv motor with the speed up tail ratio on 12s as I like a bit lower headspeeds. Without this info people will be telling you what they like and not what you need.  :)

Forgot to say, but mine flies on 14s, much better than 12s.

Mine flies on 14S  x 5000 mah, used  the smaller motor pinion and the speed up gear for the tail. Motor is XNova  450kv and Hobbywing 160 HV. BK  servos
