I flew at lunch today and I kept hearing the tail belt clanging around in the boom.  When I got home after work I tightened the tail belt.  I went out flying tonight and less than a minute into my first flight the tail belt snapped. I am so not happy right now.

Very sorry to see your poor beat up E7. The stock belt is about the only weak area in an otherwise stellar design. If you run the stock belt, tension has to be 'just right', not to tight and not too loose. If you want to continue to run your ship as belt drive, I'd suggest getting the Mikado 600SE Kevlar belt. It's a 'drop in' fit and is less stretchy than the stock fiberglass belt and makes much less boom slap and is also a little less finicky regarding tension. Plus, IMO, it is stronger! Otherwise, I can heartily recommend rebuilding with the torque tube upgrade! I have around 200 flights on my E7 and probably 170 of them are on the torque tube and it just hums right along. No cold/hot weather adjustments and no worries.

Sorry to see your machine go in. Not the nicest of feelings watching your pride and joy get destroyed.

How bad is the damage? Are the frames ok? Did you strip your servos?

Sorry to say that I know the feeling, only I've noticed it was my fault because I tighten the belt to much.
If you want to keep running belt go to FBL Rotors and get the Kevlar belt.

Mine looked in a very similar condition last week after about 150 flights on the stock belt.  I liked the simplicity and silence of the belt and so had stayed with it and was happy with the performance

Whilst repaired the heli though, I upgraded it to shaft drive and have to say it feels much better now.  The tail feels much more positive especially in fast travelling piro maneouvres.  Well worth it!

The frame is fine, it didn't sustain any damage at all.  Pretty much everything else is either bent or broken, though.  I haven't had a chance to check out the servos yet.  I will probably go ahead and order the TT upgrade when I order the rest of the parts but I think this is probably going to become a winter project.  It really sucks because I was seriously loving the way this thing flies.  I had just ordered some more batteries for the E7 and a bunch of parts to repair my 6HV.  I've pretty much blown my heli budget for the month and I'll probably have to put off the E7 repair.  Flying season is winding down here, too, so oh well...

Sorry to hear this. As Steff  mentioned, you can get the kevlar belt, it's a upgraded E7 part. It's very strong, no need to go TT if you like belt simplicity.

I was so blown away when Amy contacted me.  I just don't even know what to say, except thank you.  I was already sold on Synergy when I very first saw my E7 and saw how great the parts looked and fit.  After I flew it, I couldn't stop smiling right up until I watched it lawn dart.  After this experience I can say with confidence that I am definitely going to own more Synergy helicopters.  Thank you again, Matt and Amy.

I decided to take today off because it's been an all-around crappy week.  I began the tear-down of the E7 and, dang... so many bent parts.  I cannot believe that the frame came out of it without a scratch.
