AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
« on: October 26, 2012, 06:02:17 PM »
I ordered all the parts to get my E7 flying again and they came today.   I was doing a happy dance as I unpacked everything.  I started the assembly and now I've gone from happy to very sad because I forgot to order a feathering shaft.  I can't believe with all the time I had to make sure I had a complete list of what I needed that I still managed to screw it up. Oh well...

I know the feeling, that's why I not the fastest re-builder, want to triple-check all needed parts.

Did some more work on the E7 while I wait for the feathering shaft.  The gears were stripped in my BLS251 so I replaced them.  After I got everything back together today and powered it up I discovered that the BLS251 is dead.  >:(

If you are interested, i have two nearly new BLS251s I can part with cheap. They are gathering dust on my bench as I am now all HV on all of my setups.

One of the BLS251s has only 10 flights on it.

My string of bad luck has been pretty amazing this summer so I'm really not all that surprised that the servo died.

Thank you for the offer, Chris, but I already bought that Align servo and it should be on the way today.

Finally!  I got it all back together after work today.  I got about a 2 minute flight in, right before it got too dark and trick or treatery, just to check it all out and make sure the setup looked good.  Charging all my battery packs tonight and hoping for decent weather tomorrow.

LOL, I am just the worst.  I flew three packs at lunch and it was great.  I took off early from work and I begged my wife to go watch me fly.  She never goes with me and hadn't seen the E7 fly yet, but said yes this time.  On the second flight I was flying tail-first inverted and was showing off and got too low in a dive and ended up in a total yard sale.  The divot it took out of the football field was quite impressive.  It hit main rotors first and it hit hard enough that it sheared the head and nut off of the Jesus bolt on the owb hub  :o

Oh well...  The biggest bummer was the total destruction of the brand new Rail 696 blades.  I have to say, though, I am super impressed with the frame on this thing!  This is two really hard crashes now and the frame is still perfect.

Wow man, that sounds like me! The last time my wife came to watch, I biffed too!

Frames on these things are GREAT, yet to break one.

I would love to see a picture of the divot, but I am odd that way  :o
