Great Job Synergy Team!

 This heli was a joy to build; my kit was defect free with no missing parts.  Online instructions were concise, easy to follow and complete.  I had no offset screw heads or mis-punched parts like I have had with other kits that will not be mentioned. Drill the tail boom!  Mr. Botos suggests it, I say it do it.  I had rough time with the main shaft turning freely after assembly.  Please note that the Delrin washers on the main shaft took a bit of sanding to rectify this but know that it will need to break in. After several flights, the gears will mesh in and should turn more freely.

 The Synergy Tech Team was quick to help with all questions.  This kit is probably one of the most configurable birds out there, believe me you have a ton of choices on how to finish out this kit, Matt and his team have left it up to you, that’s awesome but get your questions answered if you are unsure how to proceed.

I suggest you read RichL’s review for more detailed review but here are my observations:

 I have just 5 flights in but I can tell that this bird is wicked fast and uber quick!!  Stable too, in a hover I feel like I could walk out to it and work on her.   My only concern is that I don’t step beyond my comfort zone as I can tell she really wants to go!  After dealing with my previous birds, I can tell you that you will not be disappointed!

My config:

Scorpion HK III 4025 110KV
Castle HV120
Castle Pro BEC
Mikado Blue Line VBAR
Scorpion Backup Guard
Futaba BLS256 on Tail <---- Do yourself a favor here!  ;)
JR 8717 x3 on Collective
Rails all around – 556mm/96mm

 On a single 6S 5000MAH battery I get a 6:30 minute flight with the battery back on the table with 32% - 36% remaining – HV120 and HK III 4025 barely warm at 96 and 106 degrees.  The ESC has the head turning just at 2K rpm.  In this config the bird has plenty of power without being a hair trigger and I would recommend this setup to anyone starting out with the E5.

Again, I couldn't be happier!  ;D

Well congratulations and glad you enjoy your heli. I can't wait to get my hands on my own and fly it this spring. (Not much of a cold weather flyer myself)

You have a similar setup as to what I'll be going with so this builds my excitement as well.

Very nice Mike!  For everyone else reading this Mike was my second victim ..... my E5's second victim ..... he was the second person I let fly my E5 and had to have one.  8)

Very nice write up! Congrats on the build and maiden! I am sure you will be enjoying that heli for a long time!

Hey Erik!  I used "JRPA217 JR HD Small Servo Wheels w/Screws."

 You will have to do a bit of modifying to them as the carbon fiber teardrops won't quite fit.  I had to use a 10mm drill in reverse to enlarge the teardrop opening to fit over the wheel hub.  (Thanks RichL for the tip!)

Also you will have to drill two new holes in the JR servo wheel to get all four bolts to align with the cf teardrop.  Mount the bolts opposite to the instructions as the heads stick up too far if mounted on the back of the teardrop, they would bind on the servo frame.

Sounds like a lot of monkey motion but wasn't bad at all.   Here is a pic.

Teardrop = carbon fiber servo arm included with the kit.  This will be obvious to those of you who have the E5 kit in hand but, for others reading the post it could be confusing.  The modification takes less than 5 minutes for all three servos.  This modification is only necessary when using JR servos to the best of my knowledge.
