Caste Creations File
« on: January 05, 2013, 10:32:32 AM »
I'm about to program my CC120 but am not finding a file much like they have for Align and on this forum with the Hacker motor.   Maybe there should this thread can contain information for first time programmers because different motors and gearing will have different answers in the software.  I think most of the info I will know, but the pole count and a couple of other things I have no idea about.  Hopefully Google will be my friend and I'll find those answers.  So, hopefully some of our resident experts can input their settings to help the future Synergy family members.
I may not have all the answers, but I'm the guy that can come up with questions that may help! lol

Gotcha, but I needed the info of what to put into the programming.  I'm looking up info now, thanks!  I'll probably have to leave for the gig before I can finish.  Took forever to figure out how to program the bec pro.  Still learning but at least I have that done.  Put it at 6.9 right?

You should be running your BEC at 7.4V as all of your servos are HV if I remember correctly.

You should be running your BEC at 7.2V as all of your servos are HV if I remember correctly.

Rich

HV servos are rated at 7.4V and you would see some loss in the line so I'm not sure why 7.2V.  A fully charged 2S lipo is 8.4V so HV servos can actually handle that too.  Then you have this:  http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=345971

So, to me you should be at 7.5V (which is much better according to the HF thread as it's a .5v increment) or 8V would be fine too.

Chumley is correct I apologize.  I will correct my post.  I was trying to do too many things at once.  Good catch Chumley!

Ok I will change that. Haven't hooked up servos yet.  So I need to reprogram the bec to 7.4 or 7.5 then.

What I have gathered is you set the BEC V to what the servos are going to run. 6 or 7.4. I did notice on www.Helifleet.com that Matt was running his E7 at 6v (when it was posted that is). Great site by the way! I'm thinking of 6 or 7.4 I guess it will depend on how it feels once I get it in the air (servo to fast or slow)

I just set it to 7.5v on the bec pro.  Loaded the settings sent to me from wbfines, thanks man!  I could only govern at 2200 because of the calculation given.  I will try it at that for now but would like to increase it to 2400-2500 eventually.  I could have sworn Matt said in one of the videos with the same setup other than I'm running vbar that he was running 2500 head speed.  How can I do that?  Hopefully I can just get it in the air by Tuesday.

What settings? Can you send to me I'd like to take a look as I'll be running the CC 120 and running gov mode as well. I would imagine you would need to change the pinion to a higher tooth count to get a higher head speed.

You can run the 14 tooth pinion to increase you head speed but, at the cost of shorter flight time times.  As far as the calculations in the CC 120 they are very conservative.  On idle up two (assuming you have normal, idle up 1 and Idle up 2) you should be around 108% on the Castle. I highly suggest you fly the helicopter at head a speed from 2100 - 2300 before moving up to 2500.  The E5 will perform every maneuver in the book at 2300.

Yeah, that's why I stayed conservative with my headspeed for now and kept it at 2200 and then I will up to 2300 and maybe every few months bump it up when I get very used to it.  Right now it will just be nice to get it in the air before the rain arrives later this week.
