Would this motor and esc combo be OK

Iam just about to push the button on a Synergy E7.    A couple of choices still to make.

Would this ESC and motor combo be ok for E7.

ESC - Castle Creations 160HV with a
Motor - Quantum 4530-500KV

Is anyone running this combination, I would like your thoughts.

Should work fine depending on what head speed you want to run.

Use Mr Mel's head speed calculator to choose the correct pinion main gear ratio with your set up.

I have the app for my phone and its free on ready heli.

I'm going with a 520kv motor with a 12t pinion for a head speed around 2150 on my E7.

That combo will be great. You will be very happy with the performance.

I am running CC 160 HV, Scorpion HK III 4035-450 14T and Revolectrix 60C 5000 12S.

well I can tell ya what Id run to achieve your 2150...    with 13 tooth pinion.

500kv x 44.4 voltage= 22200

116 main gear divided by 13t = 8.9 gear ratio

22200 / 8.9= 2494 head speed

now to acct for castle headroom for Governoring

2494 - 15%(headroom)= 2120 Head speed. While this is more like 14.9999 lol, it'll still put you in the pocket of where you want to be and run efficient where your stuff will come down nice and cool!!!

I'm using at 12TP but, running super low headspeed 1200 RPM most of the time.
