I don't understand your comment hate repairing heli. I was just saying that I know that Ralph is working on them and we still don't know when they will be available. Only Ralph can answer this question.

By the way months is a little exaggerated sine the E5 was not released until December 7th.  Hard for Ralph to make something for a new model without actually having one in his hands.
I spoke with Ralph about 10 days ago and the test models were being milled. He has queried the team asking for input in regards to the configuration. My understanding is that he will be making one tray that will be used for both the 6s and 12 versions.  Until it has been fully tested he won't release it.

Hope that helps you decide whether to wait or go it on your own.

Cheers
Alan

It has been drawn up and is in the process of being finalized. Like Alan stated, He has been working on this for a bit and is about 98% completed. Next step is a prototype and testing. Rest assured this is going to be as good as the original version on the E6/7 only more flexible (Meaning will be able to incorporate either a 6s or 12s system based on how one configures there machine. Please be patient guys he is working hard on this one. The trick is the 6s setup. With the 6s set up, it requires the clip mechanism to be set a little different since the battery sits forward of the datum line. I don't want to say anything else and risk giving away any secrets.. FBL Rotors Unlimited Skunk Works. ;) I will say it will be well worth it. as anything in regards to performance tools that Ralph designs is well worth the wait!!!

Kevin,

We've all added the extra "back stop" to our 6S E5's at my field.  I'm not sure what the design will be, but it'll be tough for some to use a tray on their 6S machines.

I assume when you say you have added a backstop you are referring to the rear Bulkhead that is originally mounted at the rear of the frame?? If that is indeed the case then there wont be an issue, the idea is still being finalized of course, and to solve the issue if in fact it does apply, would be move the bulkhead back to the stock location "12s configuration"  and install the tray.. Trust me you wont have an issue, I run mine on 6s with the bulkhead up front. No worries, Also Kudos for a great Question!!! I'm sure others will have the same concerns.. I will Keep you posted Chumley.. ;D

I just saw this thread and I wanted to give you guys some insight.

The features and benefits of the E5 Battery tray will be:

•   Snap in tray design as used in the E6/7 version ( Buckle and receptacle Identical )
•   Extended tray in front of canopy for full battery support for 6S users (CG Placement)
•   Optional machined Delrin rear stop for the 6S set up.
•   New carbon fiber front plate with milled slots and pre drilled holes for receptacle placement
•   Battery tray milled from Delrin with proper battery strap slots for 6 & 12 S packs.
•   Battery straps, hardware and shrink tubing included.

I have been waiting to see what your real needs are as many flyers have called and given some great suggestions. The Carbon plates will only take a few weeks to cut.  The Delrin parts are very time consuming and I am still working with the machine shop on this.

I am taking my time since Version 2 is not an option for me. These CNC runs are expensive and I need to cut them right the first time.  I will be sending a few too team Synergy flyers and to Matt for his comments.

Flying season is coming up very fast so I understand your concerns.  I need to have one for my own machine.

Thanks

Ralph

Sounds great Ralph.  I'm having a little trouble visualizing how the tray will work, but with two E5s (one 12S and one 6S) I'll be interested in seeing these in person.  If they'll work with the way I set up my E5s, I'll be buying a few.
