Cool let me see how the helicoils I ordered look when they come in.
I checked out some at work and I think installing them backwards might work as long as the tang breakers off in the right spot.

I've helicoils a zillion times, at work, and they usually work just fine.  Just be careful when you start the screw because if you get it cross-threaded it will start pulling the helicoil out like a slinky that's been pulled really hard.

Yeah I've used a bunch at work also. Never this small and never backwards.

Big fan of the 3mm thread kit. Worked great for installing it backwards on the slant of the pinch bolt. Ground off last thread and looks clean.
