Magnum Center Glide Bearing
« on: May 12, 2013, 08:43:26 AM »
Wow, I can't believe how much smoother and quieter my OS-55 HZ-R is running when starting and idling with this upgrade.  Hopefully I'll get a couple flights in on my N5C this morning to test it out.  Great service by Magnum getting it turned around quickly.  I shipped it last Monday and had it back by Friday.

Nice! I wouldn't have another nitro engine without this done to it. I too was amazed at how much quieter it was than a stock bearing.

I had it done awhile ago in my spare motor, I just had to install the motor and have a couple of flights on it, I like it!

Thanks for posting those pics.  I was curious as to what it looked like.
I am bout to send in a 105HZR to have this done.  This winter I will likely have it done to the 55HZ.

Cheers
Alan

For sure the best mod to any nitro motor, My last ys had 30+ gallons through it and it still looked like that.

I got a couple of flights in today with it in, and the engine definitely sounds alot smoother.

Glad to hear you're liking it. I believe it's one of the best "underground" enhancements out there. I say that because there's not a lot of advertisement for it but more word of mouth and it really works well.

This is my first nitro and I'm learning the ins and outs.  Had glow plugs go out, it wouldn't run because there was a hole in the fuel line, and finally got to hear what a nitro sounds like as the bearig goes out.  Other than the smoothness of it, my main reason for liking it because there is one less thing to worry about.  Worth every penny!

I agree 100%. I HATE changing motor bearings. The whole process of pulling it out and heating it up ETC is a pain. No more worries for the win!

Ok, you guys have convinced me!  Just need to buy a new crankcase first.  My current case has some deep gouges inside where the rear bearing has come apart in the past. ::)

I hope you have it in hand Darren.  I will be at Chattanooga also and would like to see and hear it in action.

Got the motor back today.  Has anyone noticed a slight amount of end play in the crankshaft with this bearing installed?
