I really enjoy my E5 stretch.  I am thinking of getting another E5 kit and set it up to run on 6S.  I have a few questions before I order.

1) I have some 554mm Radix V2 FBL blades in great condition.  Should I use these blades, or should I order the Rail 556's?

2) I really enjoy the E5 stretch spinning the Rail 606's at 2,150rpm (using the 1:4.5 tail ratio).  What sort equivalent HS should I shoot for when spinning the 550mm size blades?

3) ESC question.  Should I go with the CC EDGE 120HV or the non-HV CC EDGE 130?

Thanks.

BTW, what should I do with my KDE blinged up T550 and T600Pro?  I don't want them sharing the same shelf with the Synergy's.

Of course I would suggest the Rail 556 blades and honestly I am running my 6S set up on those blades at the 2,150 head speed with a Scorpion 4025-1100.

I personally would go with the HV ESC but that's just me. I am running the old Castle ICE 120HV and it does just fine coming down warm only after a 4:30 flight time of sport flying.

Oh and finally if it were me, I'd be selling the other helis to mitigate some cost of the new kit. I'd part them out to get the most money back.

About the main blades, I bet that the Rail 556's would perform awesome.  However, I would hate to just have the Radix v2 554's just sitting unused or sell them at a fraction of the cost when they track so well.  Are the Rail 556's that much better than the Radix 554 v2's?

About the ESC, my T550 breaks the 130A barrier quite often.  The CC ICE100 doesn't seem to mind, but it makes me nervous.  It is reassuring that Matt recommends in the manual (and you use it) the CC 120HV ESC for 6S application.  I was just wondering if the new CC 130A ESC would be an even better option when running on 6S.

About selling the helis, I have sold many parts in HF and rcgroups, but I have never sold bigger ticket items like full helicopters.  Is it better to sell each helicopter as ARF package deal, or is it better to part out each helicopter into individual components?

The new 130 will do just fine on a 6s.

Use the radix blades, they will fly good. If/when you break them you can always buy Rails ;)

I would think for 3D 2350-2450 is plenty of head speed if you keep the heli as light as possible. My buddy runs his 6s at 2450 with 4400 mah batts and gets 4 minutes of moderate 3d.

I have sold many Helis on both HF and RR. Almost always get more money if you part it out. If you are in a hurry or just don't want to take it apart, HF has a good buyer population.

OK.  So parting out seems like the more financially sound option.

How far do you part out?  Do you part out the individual parts, or do you part out as a set?

For instance, should I sell the whole head as a set, or should I break the head down to the individual components?

How about spare parts?  Would I sell those with the frame?

Check the forums want to buy section first and see if anyone is looking for spares that you can sell too. If not, what I have done in the past is offer two options on my ad.

Think about how much you would want for all the spares as a package by themselves. Then list one price as a package airframe with spares and another price showing the cost of just the airframe and just the spares lot by themselves. Of course if you add those to prices together, it would be higher than if they bought the package.

The goal being you give someone a slightly better deal if they buy the whole thing versus making you break it up.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Looks like I'll be busy in the F/S forums.  My goal is to get rid of everything Align by the end of the summer.

I have been a Beta Tester for the Edge 130 8S.  It works great on my E5 6S.  I have gotten some spikes >130 amps but the Edge could care less!

Yeah.  That's what I figured.  Since the 6S system is going to occasionally spike to around 150A to 160A, I figured that the EDGE 130 should in theory be better suited for this 6S application than the EDGE 120HV.  On the other hand, I have yet to read or hear of a 120HV failing on this bird on 6S due to over current.  Considering the low likelihood of 120HV failing due to over current, the fact that it is only $30 more than the EDGE 130, and the option of the 120HV to run on 12S, perhaps the 120HV is overall the better purchase.  Still deciding.

Valid point.  If I were to buy an ESC for the E5 at this point I would also lean toward the 120HV since it could be used in a  12s bird also.

Thanks for the advice.  I ended up ordering the EDGE 120HV.

I ordered all the parts last night to include the E5 kit of course.  Seems like everyone is selling at 11-12% off with free shipping this Memorial Day weekend.  I couldn't resist.

Unfortunately, I took the boring route.  Except for a new 1100Kv motor and going with the FBL Radix v2 554mm blades I already own, I will have the same electronics in this new E5 as in the E5s I own.
