Build questions...

I have two question (for now) concerning the build of the E5...

1) simply curious... is there a reason why both Button head and Socket head bolts used?

2) Torque tube  assembly... What am I to do when two such knowledgeable people instruct different things!?!
The manual (Matt Botos), page 32 attached, dictates placing the bearings 190mm from each end of the tube.
Chris Sexton says, in his build video, to make sure to use different distances.

Button heads are cleaner looking and depending on the stress levels of the structure socket heads aren't always needed. 
I querried Matt on the TT bearing spacing when I built my first E5.  The reason for not using equal spacing is a harmonics thing.  You do not want the distances on each side of the bearing to be the same.  Having 190 on each end is not an issue since the middle portion is not 190mm.

Another question, and most likely not the last...
Do the E5's bearings need to be oiled?

No Sir, Just the thrust Bearings in the Head and Tail...

I would lube the swash spherical bearing, pitch slider on the tail, and motor bearings all with Tri-Flow. Lube the Main gear and beveled gears with Boto Lube... good luck.....

You mean the teeth of all the delrin gears?

Do you gents put anything on the rubber o-rings of the torq tube bearings to help slide them into the boom?

Yep, I use a healthy coating of TriFlo Silicone lube. put some on the orings and then out a little on the inside opening of the boom.  They will slide right down.  Just don't go overboard and get grease everywhere.
