So, it turns out that if the pin comes out of tail bevel gear, you end up not having much tail authority.
On the plus side, I was able to auto it down and the only damage was one broken landing gear strut.

I know that feeling. Mine was in the front transmission that came out on the N5c. My own fault but still startling.

I installed a new pin, replaced the broken strut, and flew the crap out of it this weekend.
