E7SE Blade choice ?
« on: September 11, 2013, 07:44:14 AM »
Hi Guys

my E7se is all finished and ready to maiden on the weekend :)

My question is what is the preferred choice of the Team Synergy pilots ?

I loved my E7 and never got a chance to fly it with 716's , but it was great with the 696's

I have 716's on a couple of other Heli's of mine and love the hang time and speed

does the E7se fly better with 696's or 716's ? , broad question i know but i'm after what is better all round and is more suited to the E7se

my HS will be 1950 and 2050 ,  Rail 106 tails for these head speeds with either the 716's orthe 696's ?

one last question , what blades was Matt using when he filmed that  AR Dismount video ?

Thank you
Andrew

I am in the same boat - bought the 716s just to try them out, have 696s on a couple of other helis and love them.  In the video I believe that he said he was using 696s, but on one of the autos he mentioned that he normally only does it with the 716s.

I say it depends of your flying style. Hard core 3D won't like 716 as much. My style is big air and I just love my 716.

Hey guys,

716's definitely provide a bit more lift but at a cost of about 20-30 seconds of flight time. This is usually regained by lowering the head speed. I personally run both, I tend to switch back and forth based on what kind of flying I am doing. Big smooth flying I use the 716, and hard smack on the deck I use the 696.

The dismount auto video was filmed when I was using 696 main blades.

Thanks!

Matt

Thank guys for all the replies , and Matt i love that video. looking forward to seeing it live in October :)

I will be going for the 716's as i mainly like to fly big air , too old for smack and all those insanely fast stick movements :)

at 1900 head speed with the 716's , should i be going with 106 tails or 116's , i wont be going over 2050 most likely between 1900 and 2000

Cheers
Andrew

Andrew, I tell people based on the flying styles of different pilots will dictate how that question is answered. It takes a very skilled pilot (well managed when it comes to collective inputs) ," no bobcating" to fly 716's with 116's . Especially with the E7SE. You will clip the tail blades! I recommend flying 106's with 716's and 116's with 696's . ;)

Andrew,  the 106 and 716's are the way to go for your big air. I run those on my SE and it's awesome. Remember if you want to float around in that big air tune that puppy down to 1600, you will have a grea time!  Good luck and tell us how the maiden flight goes.

Just to add to Gary about autos, I ran one of my Gassers out of gas , I was literally 60 yards away and ran out 20 feet in the air.. I had enough forward momentum to float those 716's all the way back.. It was clearly a thing of beauty! 716's are the way to go.. Just remember while flying lower head speeds, pay close attention to your blade tightness!! To tight at low head speed will surely cause a Lead/Lag issue which could give you a little lateral wiggle..  Just try to get them equal on both blades.. Happy Flying....
