Nice job Chris!  Do you cut and shorten your servo wires or just wrap in a bundel? Where are your electronics? I was wondering if anyone ever messed up on the boom supports.

When I apply JB Weld or Epoxy to the tail rod ends, boom support ends, etc., I keep tension with electrical tape while the epoxy cures.  Otherwise, maybe because of heat generated by the curing epoxy, I run the risk of the ends separating from the rods.

That is a good idea!

Normally I build the boom supports last and let them cure while bolted to the heli. For what ever reason this time I "glued" up all the stuff first. I guess the heat pushed one of the ends off a bit like you said.

I might try your tape idea next time though!

The MSH Brain on this model is mounted to the Gyro tray under the boom and all the wires are routed through the frame. The servo leads are just the right length so I didn't need to shorted or extend any of them. In fact, with the ESC turned around this way I only needed a 3" extension on the Throttle lead and the Servo to Micro JST adapter needed for the gov rpm was long enough to reach the EDGE's AUX wire so no additional extension was needed there.

The RX is mounted in the frame and the antennas routed up and out as seen.

Chris.  I actually do a 2 stage approach.  After verifying that the struts are the same length, I JB Weld only one end of both struts, and let them settle overnight with tape holding tension.  This is one of the first things I do whenever I open the kit box.

By the time I get to finish the tail (it could be weeks later in my case), I use your method of JB Welding the other ends of the struts, and let them sit in-situ until cured.
