Hello all!!!
Just brought my first E5. Going to make it a 6s setup.This is my first build where
I buy my own electronics so heres what im thinking (comments welcome)
Fbl:  Ikon
Flight style :Big air..mild 3d
Motor:Scorpion 4025-1100
Target headspeed: 2100 normal 2200 I1  2400 I2
Esc: Kontronik 80hv (enough) if not Yge 120lv
Gov: either internal yge or tronik
Bec: same as above
Servos: absolutely no idea (comments welcome) some good ones that aren't power  hungry
Batts: Pulse 6s 5000mah 35-40c
Flight time: 5-6 min???

Congrats and welcome to Synergy. Looks like you will have a great set up. As far as the ESC goes I am not familiar with Kontronik aside from knowing they're great units so someone else I'm sure can chime in on that portion.

As far as servos go there are many great choices. I and many others run Futaba servos and like them a lot. If you can find them BLS255 Cyclics and 256 for the tail are a great option but they have been updated to the BLS272sv on cyclic and BLS276sv for the tail. Powerful brushless HV servos that don't consume power.

Others are using anything from RJX servos to Outrage Torq. No matter what you go with high voltage is the way you'll want to go.

You may want to consider bumping up the headspeed slightly in idle up 1. Depends on the pinion you will choose. Using the 12 tooth pinion will allow your motor to run coolest and you can achieve good performance with around 2350 to 2450 head speed in your idle ups. I also use 2100 just for take off and landing. I have one E5 with a 12 tooth pinion and another with the optional 13 tooth and use those head speeds on both.

Welcome to Synergy.
I have the same flying style as you and I do fly the Kontronik 80HV, never had a cut off, therefore you should be fine with this ESC.
Rest seems great I agree with Brandon concerning the servos.
You will love flying this heli.

Hello! Welcome to the Synergy Family! That setup looks HOT!

The kit comes with 12t and 14t pinions, 13t and 15t are available if you need.

The HV versus none HV argument is as old as the FB/FBL argument. If you are planning to run the Jive BEC, you don't need HV servos. HV is needed if you want to run a straight 2s lipo rx pack rather than a BEC or LiFE pack. HV servos aren't always power hungry. Some quality HV Brushless servos like the Futaba BLS255/256 combo are very power conservative. Then again, some HV servos like the Savok are VERY power hungry.

Ok please excuse the newbieness but I thought HV meant high-voltage so I assumed they drew a lot of power.
As far as the HV being only for life packs. I'm sorta confused again. Ok a seperate bec provides power to the
servos correct... instead of draining your main battery right??? So using an internal jive bec it's going to draw
from the main pack. But if I use a seperate pack (2s lipo) to power the servos then I don't need the internal bec??
What are the pros and cons???
My Trex 550 I use the talon 90 ( only 1 issue so far) just hookup battery and fly. Don't know much about life packs
scorpion backup guards or anything. Everything was in the kit.
So this is my own build based on the knowledge I've acquired from that one.
Btw think Ill try those Futabas thanks Chris!!!!
P.s. do I always have to type in those letters just to post???

HV relates to the voltage required. When we talk Power it is referring to amp draw. So you can have "power hungry" low voltage servos.

To try to sum it up a BEC is used to allow you to use the main pack to power the motor and the servos. Whether internal or external.

Your other option is to run a straight LiFe or LiPo separately to power the servos.

This is where high voltage comes into play. HV servos can be run on any of the options listed however if you go with a low voltage (otherwise known as standard servos) then you will be unable to use a LiPo pack (unless you run a voltage regulator, which defeats the purpose in my opinion) but you could use a LiFe pack or if using a BEC The voltage will have to be dropped fairly significantly.

As Chris mentioned some HV servos are power hungry such as Savox or JR. (JR standard servos also eat through power) where as Futaba HV servos are not. Long story short, high voltage is in relation to what volts they can be powered by not how much they consume.

After talking with my buddy(guy who started me on this path of enlightenment..lol)
He had a tronik 80hv and kept over amping it .Therefore Ive decided to use this esc

Those Futabas 255s are a little too steep for me.Usually don't mind spending for great stuff but my servos costing as much as heli!!!wow.
Any alternatives or are all hv servos expensive like that. Only experience I have with servos are the ones I picked out for another build and those were recommened also.

So in keeping with my lust for a Kontronic going to get a 100lv jive with Futabas 451scyclic 251 tail
with maybe a Pyro 650 or Scorp 1100

What a beautifully mastered kit!!
Now what do I need to complete it.
Esc is on they way..vacillated again and went with the YGE 120lv W/ bec
Futabas 451s also..Ikon laying around!! Scorp 1100 yet to get.
Now don't I need a "Boto-sizer" or something to complete kit?
My understanding is this kit is a little different from others in special tools to complete?

I would recommend a botosizer. The links will need sized to cut down on drag. Just remember to go slow. It is easy to over size the links.

You will also want to either modify a set of ball link pliers or buy a set from Ralph @ Fblrotors because normal ball link pliers have too small of an opening.

Ralph just got a fresh batch of pliers in. I originally had modified another brand of plier but eventually I bought the FBL product.
