Tail Rotor Hub Socket Head Screws
« on: December 12, 2013, 09:07:28 PM »
The manual calls for M3x6 socket screws.  I replaced my tail rotor hub due to a bumpsky.  I noticed run-out in the screws.  I found out that the screws were M3x8 (from the factory) rather than M3x6 (per the manual).  I replaced them with M3x6 per the manual.  I think it will be fine, but I just wanted to run it by ya'll.

the in and out play on the tail grips is there by design. Don't shim it out.

I am talking about the screws that hold the grips to the hub.  The play comes from the length of the hub- an extra two mm on the screws does not impact the play as there is plenty of room in there to hold 8's.  Just trying to figure out if I should buy some 8's since that is what the kit came with even though the manual calls for 6's.

That's what I get for posting while tired...

I understand your question about the grub screw length. I meant to post more than a short sentence sorry ;)

I have heard a few people state their tail hub screws were 3x8. I am sure other team members will add their observations, but I would replace with the stated 3x6. The bolt needs to tighten up on the hub.

I concur. use the 3x6... Ensure the screw wont bottom out in the hub.

Yeah Chris I was wondering about your post...  Thought your phone had died mid sentence...LOL...

Cheers
