E5 non-stretch 12S
« on: April 12, 2014, 02:13:44 PM »
I have had two E7se and an E5 stretched for a while now, but never had the regular E5.  Well, I finally got one and all I can say is it is so much fun!  Matt really hit 3 home runs in my book!

My E5 gets more flight time than either my E7SE or the 12S E5 stretch mainly because of the ease of using a single 6S pack.  Still, all three are great birds.

Stop it, I have been trying my best not to get a N7!  I did see the N7 up close and watched several of them fly at the Cajun Heli Fest and man I want one...

Ok you talked me into one mine is on its way last Thursday or Friday. 8) After reading this I am more excited than I was previously.  I like the idea of 6s 556's simple easy to haul and fast really fast!

Separate note if you only knew how sweet the N7 was you would know your punishing your self for not having at least one! :D  The N7 overnight (literally) became my go to machine, I don't like to say favorites, all four of them are in the room with me!

My 6S E5 has, by far, the most flights of any of mine and it's a blast to fly.  I feel the same as ChapaWolf about the N7, though.  I haven't hardly wanted to fly anything else since I got it.

Title is correct; E5, 556mm mains, 12S (2x 2600mAh 6S).  And I am loving it!  I had a spare 550Kv motor laying around, so I used it instead of purchasing a 6S one...

Sorry, no videos yet.  My flights really are not video worthy (mostly sport, with a tiny bit of mild 3D thrown in for noise)!!!

I've changed my E5 (non stretch) to a 12S set-up lately and now I can't seem to fly it enough. I've put a crazy set-up on it and running crazy fast head speed. Loving it more than ever.

I built my E5 as a 12s.  Used the 14 tooth pinion that came with it. Rail 556 and scorpion HKIII 4025-550.  I now have 25 flights on it (still in one piece).  I have run Pulse 2600 x2 and Pro-Tek 2900.  Castle 120 w/governor IU-1 70% @2310 & IU-2 100% @ 2400 rpm.  What a nice machine.  Just getting used to it.  It's big and fast compared to my align 500dfc.  Getting great flight times but I don't bang the sticks hard 6:30 w/70% used.  So glad winter is over.

on my current e5 I run the 4025 1100kv on 6s getting about 4:30 flight times. what would a person gain from going 12s on a 550? I have a hacker A50-10-L 530 turnado that needs a home

Hey Greg, how are your flight times with those 2600 packs? Do they come down hot?
