What brand of servos are you using with the BD Alan?

Usually Futaba. I have used RJX also. The demon does not like Proteks though. I know that from experience.

I was chatting with an owner of a N7 at a Phoenix FF this past spring and he advised against the RJX/Demon combination.  Said it was really flaky on his machine.  He was running V-Bar at the FF

Roger the only issue I had with the RJX on the demon was occasionally one servo would not "boot up" so to speak. Unplug and replug and all was good.  The Vbar has done the same thing once that I recall thus far.

Yeah rjx have a power ramp time that is out of this world. I have seen them fail to boot on just about every brand bec on the market.

Yes.  Mine were using a BEC pro. The FBL unit does not seem to have much to do with that behavior.

Haven't had that issue running a straight 2S Lipo on either of my N7s.  Haven't heard if the BK servos do the same thing but I'm putting a set on my E5 with a Scorpion Commander 130A SBEC, so I'll find out soon.

Apparently Bert has worked directly with the manufacturer that makes the rjx (yes rjx is just an oem of another brand) and has a different setup in his. Narrower dead band, smoother gear train and a different motor controller so his servos shouldn't do this.

I am going to stop saying they are the same as rjx because they really aren't now. First run of minis were but the full size is in fact a different servo. Same factory different materials and qc standards.

I have a set on my e5 12s. Going great. No issues with my cc bec pro.

My full size BK servos have been great as well. About as reliable as the Futaba servos I have so far.  I can't say that with other servos I have run in the past.

That's good to know that you've been using them with a bec with no issues, Chris.  I knew they were manufactured by RJX which is why I was wondering about them with a bec.
