Pinions
« on: August 14, 2014, 05:49:55 PM »
Hi guys, just starting on an N7 now and was wondering if there is other motor pinion possibilities. Only option I could find was a 21 which seems a bit much. Is there 18 or 19? the ratio I'm after is about 7.6 which is what I am getting on a Trex 700 going from stock 14 to a 15, thanks.

Only the 17 and 21 available at this time.

What motor and head speed are you hoping to gear for?

OK, yeah, that's all I've been able to find. Hoping to get between 2100 and 2200. Have been getting that with the Trex on 15 and 16T pinions. The motor will be either 120srx, OS105 or OS91speed3d which will probably go in it first. I just never thought the Trex moved quick enough on 8-1 14T. A few peple have told me I might get that HS with a 105 in stock form but I don't really need the motor to rev that hard to achieve it. The SRX can go up a pinion no probs, its a lot better than the original. Maybe I can get some to custom make one.

Well the N7 is geared for ideal power band for 1850-2050 on the head. The N7 is very light and I feel can be stupid fast when setup right.

Thanks for the replies guys, I am nearly finished building and will see how it goes in stock form. Heard a lot of good reports and will probably be more than happy with it. Bye bye bell cranks.

That sounds like what I'm after Chris, we'll soon find out any way, nearly there. Been following your vids by the way, they make life easy, thanks.
