No problem.
Maybe my post should just have said...
Correct, you only need to connect the white signal wire. :)

Thanks Wolf, hey i got some sleep, Where did you mount the sats, I was thinking one on each side, 1 high on frame and the other lower on the other side, spectrum wants them at least 3 inching appart, or maybe one up front and other in the back?

I install my sats like this - one on as far forward as I can, with the antennas sticking down below the frame (the wire on the left is the actual antenna, the other is not....), and one as far back as I can on the top of the frame with the antenna sticking past the frame material and in open air. carbon will block the signal. the sats need/should be turned 90 degrees to each other.....

Thanks Mike, I know they don"t like carbon, and they want them as far apart up 36 inches, so you have one on the frame in back, the other up front but down low

yes, sorry I don't have pics. but yes, one up front and low, and one back and high, or vise versa. depends on how the heli is laid out....

As per spectrum if those are the sats you use then both wires are active.  I placed one up top with the whiskers both over the cf frame and one up front with the whisker end just out over the frame.  The rear one is only 45deg to the bottom one but in range check I can get rediculously far away before I lose signal.

I am hoping the x8r rx that comes with a taranis isn't as bad with cf frames.

I'm using Spektrum DSMX sats (part SPM9645).

One is mounted horizontally with the antennae running across the frame on the FBL shelf, with the antennae just clearing the back of the frame. I could do that with the FBL mounted on the gyro mount plate. Otherwise I'd have mounted that sat in the same way on the gyro plate.

The other one is mounted vertically high on the left side of the frame just ahead of the motor with the active wire clear of the frame. Alternative was to mount low on the frame in the same area. But the sat would be vulnerable when changing batteries. Haven't had an problems with interference from ESC or motor to this sat.

25+ flights and working fine.

where do you see that? I have always been told that only the one on the left actually receives a signal.

The iKon can take up to 8.4v, thats from other info I've seen on the net.
I'm running 6.0v through mine at present, may switch to HV sometime.
