Going nitro?

I'm not trying to start a nitro vs electric debate. However, I do have question on going to an N5c. I currently have an E5s and an E7se. I really like the ease of electrics and feel it has improved my flying ability and joy of flying helicopters. I have a great charging station at my field and plenty of batteries. I have been reading a lot of posts about how great the N5c is. So for those that have both. Is the N5c better or different than the E5? Or does it come down to electric vs nitro? I love me E5s and e7se so there not going anywhere. I'm just looking to add to the fleet. Also if I go used, is it worth holding out for a tt vs belt version?

Branding the N5C better than the E5 is only in the eye of the beholder. I will say IMHO it is better than any other Nitro 50 class helicopter that I have ever owned. How do you like to fly? Flight characteristics of nitro powered aircraft are somewhat different than the electric counterpart. Nitro usually has a lower disc loading and can auto rotate much better than the electric. Flight times on nitro are longer for an equiv setup on electric. If you like engines, tuning, and the smell of nitro....it can't be beat. My N5C sees the air every time that I am at the field. It is an absolute joy to fly. Now TT vs belt is another preference. I prefer belt, but the TT has less drag and performance is increased slightly. TT just doesn't work well digging in the dirt. Belt is a little more forgiving. I have flown both and either option is great.

Nitro is not as messy as its usually stated by e lovers. I prefer a fuel helicopter, there is actually a lot less to drag to the field

I have been known to own a few Synergy's, I will say the Ratio has always leaned more to the Nitro side. I have had numerousN5's, N5c's and N7's.I have 2 N5c's left, and I absolutley love them. They are my goto birds and Look and fly like a featherweight 700 size.  A nitro in my opinion will make you a better pilot regarding collective management. Learning different moves can be easily obtained by both the E and N series Synergy's, but to really hown your skills, I choose My Nitros.Can't forget my trusty ol N7. Now that is a machine and a whole nother post....

No, both changes happened at the same time, in kit form.  There are some out there that started as belt drive and people converted to TT but left the original head on, though.

Ok, I bit the bullet. Since I didn't really see anything used worth buying. I just bought myself a Christmas present. I ordered a new n5c tt kit. Now I just need to get the gear together.

Oh very nice!  I'm saving for my n5c kit as well. I've been am all electric guy but recently have been bitten by the nitro bug.  My wife is gonna love me now.  Ha.
