Foaming in tank??
« on: March 11, 2015, 08:33:24 PM »
Brand new n7 build with a ys91 tareq...ran a full tank today and had major league foaming. What causes this?
Everything was brand new all stock. Only 1 tank a 7min flight. I have a N5ctt with no issues what so ever!

Tank foaming is vibrations. If you don't seem to have any other symptoms could be motor tune or something out of round. Are there any other symptoms of vibrations?

I have the same engine on my N7. It took a little to get her tuned after break in and I still had foam in the tank. Found out that the rear bearing was shot. Replaced it and now I have very little foaming. For some reason YS 91 srx had bad rear bearings from the factory.

@ Chris didn't see any other signs..but will check and make sure all my screws are tight and everything..my buddy has the same motor and he still has excessive vibs..(trex700n) I know it was running rich since it was the first flight.maybe that has something to do with it. Its definetly not tuned yet. Im also running with the gov on at 17,18,1900..should it be off until break in? Just didn't want to go from a v-curve to a straight line curve.
Since I have no bank switching curve..lol

On another note I might be making the trip to B-ham with Big-D!!! If I do Ill seek you out.I know its gotta be Synergy Land down there right?

Tune can for sure cause a rough run, but you are describing serious foam. I am with Rick, check the motor bearings, fan, hub. Make sure there isn't something there.

Aye, Team Blue will be out in force at BHam! Hope to see you there!
