2200 is fine.  Mine is at 2100 on Idle 2.  I am running 625's though.  Are you running 606's?

I'm running 2250 head speed at idle 1 and 2300 at idle 2. 2200 will be good. You know that ideally with the YGE your ideal throttle curve is 85%?

I am running 606's

I think  i need to drop the kv to 530 to get to 85% on the yge ?
With the 560 im nearing 2500 head speed !!!

can i ask what you guys ( alan, steff)
What kv motor your using ?
As per mr mel, if i drop a pinion (11) on the 560kv im at 90% on the yge to get 2150hs
If i drop the kv down to 530 i can hit 2250-2300 at 85% ?!?

I am running an Xnova with a 560kv with a 12t pinion. Are you are currently using the 12t pinion? The smallest pinion option is 12t.  My setup could use a lower KV motor also but I haven't seen and detrimental problems or overheating with what I have.

Just not familiar with YGE esc so i do not know what is recommended with those.

Sounds like your setup will be fine though at 2200 and above.  Dropping the KV might be a bit more efficient at lower head speeds.

Both the Kontronik and YGE govs are optimal at 80%, with around 20% headroom for proper governing.

Sounds like you have answered your own questions then with the help of MrMel.
There are many factors here. Flying  style, the particular motor you are running. With my setup the Xnova comes down with a very reasonable temp.
A lower KV may be in order in your case.

i am flying a 530kv kde motor, with a 13t pinion, with the YGE 120HV on 12S. i am flying mine with the vbar gov and freewheeling turned on in the YGE.

Normal - 1500HS
IU1 - 2150HS
IU2 - 2250HS

she seems to be very happy at all 3 speeds.

I'm running a 510kv with 13t pinion. 1900-2100-2200 rpm and 626s on Kontronik gov.  :) love it
