CC Ice2 HV 120 question
« on: November 17, 2011, 11:14:12 PM »
Which BEC would be best to use with a CC Ice2 HV 120?

If I plan going the E7 route should I get a 160esc?

Thanks

On my E7 I have been running a Jive 80Hv with built in bec and had great luck. On the E6 I use a 120A ICE2. I will soon order one of those for the E7 just to be safe. As far as a bec goes, the Western Robotics Hercules works GREAT! but it is on the expensive side....

Thanks Steve!

Maybe I can find a good used Jive 80HV. By the time I buy a CC Ice2 HV120 and a WR bec there's not that much price difference.

Is the Hercules you speak of the $100.00HV?

Yea that's the one  ;D. The cc bec pro is also rated for 12s but I don't have any experience running it so I can't comment on it. It is a much less expensive route to consider. I do know you will need a castle link to program it tho

My Ice 2 120HV stopped working after 4 or 5 flights. Now I am using Ice2 160HV with WR bec.

Hey Guys!

I've got the CC ICE2 120HV on my E6 with a Flighttech 8a Regulator and Optipower 2S 2150 Rx lipo powering the radio system at 6v and so far it seems to work pretty well but I am going to try one of the new Gryphon BEC's.

I like having the Main power system seperate to the radio power system, it does add a little weight but you have the safety feature of still having control if the main power system fails, and also makes setting up a breeze.

Cheers!

I am running a ICE2 120hv with a cc bec pro v2 running off of the 12s flight pack.

Up to about 15 flights in my e7 with this setup and the motor and esc are cool and running stable.

I have ran the cc bec pro on several birds, I think it works just as well as the western robotics stuff, but it is a bit larger. I just put mine on the back side of the esc tray. Plenty of room for the batteries.

Is anyone using a Jive 80+HV? Many people use the Jive 80 on their Logo 600 on 10s....Do Jives work well with the Hacker 470/580KV motors?

I had over 100 flights on my Jive 80 with Hacker 470 on the E6 with no issues.  However, on the E7 it kept shutting down on me so I replaced it with a Castle 120.

How about a Jive 80HV with the hacker 580 on an E6?
