Hi

My goal is to use 2x6S packs in the E7SE, as I'd like to use the same packs in a Gaui X5 as well.

Are there any recommendations on how to fit 2x 6S packs cleanly into the E7 while at the same time making it reasonably simple to break the packs apart for charging & use in other helis?  E.g. my goblin 570 has a sliding tray that the battery is strapped to - changing batteries is a breeze!

As well as that - as long as I extend the battery connectors out to the front for use with a Y-cable to make these into a 12S I can continue to use my existing charge setup (6S capable charger) as well as the same packs on the X5.

Any tips out there, or does anyone have pics of how they do this already?  Or are there some products that make this dead simple?

Thanks!

FBLRotors and 3D Heliparts both have battery trays for the E7. Both will allow you to strap the packs to the trays.

I use one Synergy strap in the from and three Scorpion straps in the middle and back with valcro. No trays. Seems to work fine. I added in a series connection off the ESC. I can hook up 2 6s packs or 1 stick pack. So you can see how series Y connection works in the second picture however has to may connections. So in the third picture I just added the Y on the end of the ESC.

just slide them both in and Velcro them down. no need to extend the packs leads, as that will add extra weight to  your X5. make the Y harness on the ESC a bit longer on one side so you can reach the back pack. its not as far as  you think. what i did was make my Y harness the same length, then  made a 4" extension for one of the plugs to reach the back pack. i am not running all stick packs, so no need for that anymore.

fyi....i dont think battery companies even make a factory soldered up "12S" pack with a single lead anymore. most companies put both leads for the 6S packs out the front so it is just like charging (2) 6S packs.

On an E5-S, but the concept is the same.

12s packs don't exist much anymore due to both risk of total pack loss and the watt-hour limitations a single battery can have for shipping. Wrapping them together allows the manufacturer to ship the wrapped pack as two separate batteries. At least that's what I remember from last year. Things may have changed yet again. Customs and mail law moves quickly :)
