Lol... I find it difficult to fly without a canopy as well... I loose orientation easily without it. Several guys here do it.. Some say they prefer it off.. NOT me! Lol

Yes, same for me, difficult with orientation. And it looks ugly! Actually I find the original canopy paint scheme to be not so good considering visibility. Although a very nice paint job.

Oh I dig the stock canopy... & I also think it a beautiful machine to look at without the canopy... But once she gets out a ways... I loose orientation.

On a very old canopy I had I noticed the U channel had gotten a bit loose over time and since I didn't notice it right away it wore on the hole in the canopy a bit.  I found some rubber to cut into a washer that I put under the metal fender washer that normally sits against the fiberglass and flew till I destroyed the canopy in a crash.  On all my new canopies since I do the same thing with the rubber "washer" and feel it helps prolong the live of the canopy by preventing the metal from rubbing against it damping vibrations.
Trying in vain not to anger the gods of vertical flight!

I actually us a small amount of epoxy.. Keeps it locked in without rotating & wearing the canopy... Some thin rubber was my first thought as well tho... Didn't have anything I thought would work so I ended up using the epoxy when I mixed it for the tail pushrod.

Now I finally got a new front canopy mount and it is totally different as the canopy now is very firmly fixed in the front mountings and no annoying vibration sound. Must have been something wrong with the original one.

I put Tenex fasteners (http://www.eagleday.com/tefage.html) on my E5 and N7. I used the ones that are made in Germany.  No reason, I just picked that model.  For the E5 I made mounts that allowed me to use the N7 front mounts.  My canopy for both models is a breeze to mount and dismount with the Tenex fasteners
