N5c belt tail shaft is too long?
« on: September 08, 2015, 08:17:21 AM »
Hi guys,

I bought this thing used, and am not really sure if it's correct.  As you can see in the pic the tailshaft hangs out of the other side by about 4-5mm.  I don't think it's a big deal because I get a lot of pitch on the tail blades.

I guess my question is if this is normal?

Thanks!

Hello,
Your picture is not viewable for me, but yes the tail shaft protrudes out from the tail fin.   I attached  a pic from my belt machine.

Gasser mike?

Mark, mine looks exactly like the picture you posted.

Mike, when I read the post you linked, seems like Matt says to put it on, slide the tailshaft all the way to the left until the flat spot "runs out", then tighten down the bolts.

Is that right?

I posted the picture in a thread on HF.  Couldn't figure out how to upload pictures here.

yes, gasser mike.

I guess in the end, as long as you have to correct offset at neutral, and enough throw either way, it is all good. there used to be a pic in the thread from matt, but it was deleted somehow.
