I just don't see a vibration strong enough to snap off the entire side mount of the servo... If I were so, then entire heli would be shake'n like an electric tooth brush! U say it was the throttle servo? Upon looking at the pictures I would assume either a crash or a serious binding issue unresolved over time. Regardless off the hard mount or grommet... I don't know.. But I do use them. U replace it yet & get her back in the air?

Servo grommets are up to each servo manufacturer and the end users digression. I have done it both ways, with and without grommets and have found it really doesn't make a difference. Plastic servos on the other hand I would always use grommets. One thing you need to keep in mind is strength of materials. Plastic isn't very strong so the added shock absorption will make a big difference in the long run.

Yes, it was the throttle servo that broke. I had to replace it with an old Align 620 servo and it is back in the air!

I had some servo cases get brittle from fuel back in the day. It's not getting blasted by exhaust is it?

No, the throttle servo is as far away from the exhaust as it can get.
When I get a new upper case for it, I for sure will use grommets.

I'm alittle late to the party, but will chime in never the less, I have always run grommets on everything, especially Helis and most importantly nitro. My opinion, with them being dampened there's less chance of premature failure do to certain resonance, same goes for full scale Helis with linear actuators. I even run dampened servos in my Planes, electric and turbine.

And do not forget the eyelets, they have a reason for them, keeps from smashing the grommets, if bolts are to short get longer ones.
