Castle Creations ICE120HV E6 & E7 Setup Files
« on: September 14, 2011, 08:19:56 PM »
Here are the E6 and E7 setup files when using Hacker 470kv and 580kv motors.

Only thing you may have to change is the direction, pinion tooth count, and desired head speeds.

Thanks,

Matt

Matt,

Can you run the CC2 120Amp through the CGY 750?  A few others are doing this with cheaper speedies and they are finding that the piro comp works much better, and the flight times are a little better?

I'm not sure I know what you mean.

The Castle ICE120HV does not have an internal BEC, you have to have something else to power the 750.

I am using Castle Pro Bec and Western Robotics BEC's to power the 750. Both set at 6volts.

I'm guessing he means running the throttle signal through the CGY750, like the external gov mode on the VBar.

My throttle lead from the ICE120 has always went directly into 750. Not sure why you would want to plug it into the RX.

Not sure about flight times being better, the power consumption is not going to change.

Piro comp should exactly the same plugged into RX or 750 as long as the 750 governor is set to match the RPM of the Castle ESC. Not sure why but, a lot of guys don't even use the portion of the 750 that calculates head rotation speed to assist in piro comp. I think its mainly just lack of information.

Maybe time for another setup video?

Sorry Matt,

What i mean is, many pilots are using the governors based in the FBL units rather than the ones based within the speed controllers.

Are you simply using the governor based within the CCIce or is it the CGY750 governor that you are using?

Yeah cool, we tried using the CGY one with a sensor drilled into the main gear, it actually worked very well however you are right, the best combination so far is the CCHV, gov enabled and programmed to the CGY.

Hi Guys,

The recommended timing (according to the Hacker website) for the Hacker A50-12L 470Kv is 15 degrees.  The CC file attached in the OP has timing at 5.  What would you recommend?

Cheers.

Hi HelliYea !

I setup mine at 5 and Hacker 470 are powerfull and run smooth. But I don't know if we can break Hacker engine with bad timing?

Usualy with drive(Castle creation or other brand), it's verry important to have good timing.

I have 23 flight with mine and no problem for now.

Thanks Yan.  I have mine at 5 but the motor is coming down quite hot.  I'll try 15 on the weekend and see if that changes anything.

Cheers.
