Synergy 766 recommended electronics
« on: December 05, 2018, 09:50:03 AM »
Just grabbed a used 766. I’m gonna go with a 12s setup. Vbar neo, Scorpion 4525-520,  castle 160w/fan, I’m considering the new bk Kyle Stacey servos or mks, stock 766 gearing, batteries will be 5000mAh, what do you all think? I know it’s a beast on 14s but I’m gonna start with 12s

I'm running some Futaba 272s and 276 on the tail on my 766.  I am running BKs on my 806 (7002s cyclic and 7006 on the tail).

Depending on the head speed you are running, you have options to speed up the tail.

My 806 is on 14c, my 766 is 12c, and honestly, I'm liking the 766 better.  I have tweaking that needs done on both, and I'm chasing an electrical issue on my 806.

Thanks, just found I’m gonna go gasser with it.

Thanks Rodney, any preferred servos with the gasser version?

I like brushless servos on my gasser because of the vibrations, and I use grommets on them.

If you choose the Castle ESC you will not be able to go 14S. Castle doesn't run 14S. Otherwise you set up sound good.

Thxs if I go electric I will certainly get a 200amp esc. I may be going gasser with it instead.

Thxs. What rpm governor are you using? I’m will be using a vbar setup.

I use a Futaba GY701 governor, which is an excellent governor, because the governor in my Spirit FBL controller is not know to work well with gas helis.

I'm also adding a 766 to my fleet. Mine will be a gasser for sure. I'm hoping my JR sls01 cyclics will fit. They are a low profile servo so they may not fit the bearing block right.

Just curious, i got bk 7002 for the cyclic. There is a bit of vertical play between the servo and the upper and middle bearing blocks. Should I just push the servo to the top and tighten? Or build a spacer?

I have a set of JR 8917Hv cyclics in my 806. Fit fine and haven't had one problem with them since it was built.
