Ball link pliers
« on: January 21, 2012, 09:25:22 PM »
Well I never had this happen before. Turns out my ball link pliers are useless for the E6. Funny I have had these pliers for years and they have built L500&600, X5, Align helis.. This is the first time my pliers have ruined the balls. The balls are too big for my pliers and when taking the balls out of the links the pliers goudge/deep scratch them.

Anybody have a link for the pliers they use?

You can Dremel out the U in your existing pliers just a bit and they should work fine.

Yep, Synergy E6/7 balls are 5.5mm instead of 5. You'll also need one of Matt's 'Botos sizer' link sizing tools too. It would be nice if we were somehow made aware of the 'extra large' balls before purchase so we could be prepared.

I dremeled a spare plier, easy to do.  Sizer is also a must.

Hi,

The ball link pliers i use for my Synergy's are the Robbe pliers (S1360), these are very simple pliers but they are spaced just right for the Synergy ball links.

Hope this helps

Cheers
Ross
