N5C Nightflyer
« on: February 16, 2012, 05:08:14 AM »
It's a work in progress. Should have it complete and ready to smack by next weekend :)

Picture quality is a bit down, just because the LED's are too bright to be photographed without changing a lot of settings in the camera :p

Will be posting pictures and videos of the completed setup :)

Thanks,

Jake.

Shouldn't have any trouble finding that in the darkness. Can't wait for the video.

Here is one I did last summer on my N5. I retired this heli after the Snohomish FF. thenewguy - Night Flying

It was a great winter project. In this video it was the maiden flight. If the funds allow this Spring I plan on doing a N5C again for this summer.

Thanks,

That was an excellent video and great flying.

I might just have to do a night rig one of these days. What was your whole set-up as far as lighting, main and tail blades?

About 90% finished. Just need to solder the LED's on the other side of the boom, and attach plugs to everything :)

It looks superb in the flesh, the LED's are just too bright for my poor phone camera :p

Also waiting on blades..

Nice Jake,

Something that might help. Where you solder you wires to the LED's, put a small dab of 5 min epoxy. The wires will break at that point from vibration. The epoxy will stop that from happening. Instead of spending all night fixing your wiring, you can actually enjoy flying.

Thanks,
Chris
