Some E6/7 questions
« on: February 26, 2012, 05:06:01 PM »
Hey guys-

Sorry if this has already been asked, but im just looking for some quick answers.

-Whats the difference between the E6 and E7 setups? Does the kit come with any parts needed to go back and forth?

-Ive got a ton of spyder 6s5300 packs. Would a 12s5300 setup with these packs be too heavy? I want to make sure its at least decently light.

-What would be an ideal motor for the 12s setup?

thanks for any help!

A E6 with 5300, in my opinion, would be too heavy, E7 no problem.
Yes you do have the parts to go back and forth between E6 and E7.
I think the better motor would be the Hacker 470 KV motor for your needs.

One thing is for sure either the E6 or E7 are both great flying helis and I sure you will never look back.

awesome, thanks for the quick response.

As far as flybarless stystems go, would any be ok? the local guys in my area all use beastX, but ive noticed most of the synergy guys use the futaba system. is there one system that lends itself more to the synergy?

I tend to trust the only two that I know works great, the Futaba CGY 750 (works better if you own a Futaba radio) and the Mikado V-Bar.
The others do work but I know guys that have had issues with these.

so if i were to go with the futaba system (i dont run their radio, i run a hitec A9 with XPS module), how much trouble would it be to setup? this would be my first fbl heli.

Although V-bar or Futaba is what I would personally recommend, and in that order only because 90% of my experience is V-bar, but you might be better suited to fly what the local's do for tech support. I was the first in my area to go flybarless and I can tell you there were some learning experiences I would gladly trade for a quick and simple answer.  Just make sure you can trust the local that set it up.

All the flybarless systems are basically easy to set up even for the first timer. Second time is always easy because you won't spend 90% of the time second guessing yourself or the system, you'll know.

On 12s 5300 you definitely want to go E7. It will still be lighter than most 700's on the market.

thanks again for all the help. one more (probably stupid) question. what kind of flight differences might i expect with the E7 vs the E6? Would a single 6s5300 not be enough for the E6?

Hi,

I am personnaly running the CGY750 on my E6, and although i have always been a JR/Spektrum guy it has been a learning curve for me to learn the Futaba Ways of programming but the system is very good, both the 8FG Super which i went for and also the CGY750 work great together.

Any FBL system will be fine with a little 'tweaking' to suit the machine and also the pilots personal preference, but i would however recommend choosing a FBL controller that you have had expereince with or one that you can get help with if you need it.

I have my E7 in E6 configuration at the moment and it's great fun with the 4300mah 10S pack i run.
