There are many factors in making power and torq with an electric motor. One of the key components is the wire that is wound throughout the motor. You can change copper thickness and winding pattern and change the output and kv of a motor. When someone says they have a hand mound motor that is just that. They have had the motor remount by hand to a custom configuration.
Generally if the person doing the winding knows what they are doing, you can increase both torq and cooling of the windings at the same time.
