E7 Boom specs
« on: July 24, 2012, 10:06:10 AM »
I didn't bring my E7 with me today, anyone able to either link me the specs on the boom or measure theirs? I need ID, OD, and over all length in MM.

Trying to figure out the best way to stretch my E7 to 750. I really want to try some edge 753s. I seen a Diabolo swinging them and it was doing 3d at 1400 RPM! Frame is lighter on the E7 so going for some low head speed fun.

Please let me know where you will get the parts and tell how you did it because I was thinking about doing the same thing.

Final Boom measurements for E750 project:

22OD x 21ID x 855mm

Ordered two CF rolled formed Tubes cut to length. Should be here Friday.

Blades will be here tomorrow according to FedEx. I have the tube to make the TT, but I am waiting until I get the boom test fitted as I don't have enough tube to make two TT at this time.

So my Synergy E750 setup will be:

HKIII 4035-330
ICE2 120A ESC
13T Pinion
Edge 753FBL Mains
Rail 116 tails
Head Speed Governed to: 1300/1400/1500
Pulse Ultra 6S 3700mAh 45C packs (12s)

I am shooting for 10.2 pounds RTF. My E7 currently weighs 10.2. I am picking up nearly 100g in the blades and a few grams in the boom and TT, but I am gaining that weight back by lowering the batteries from the Hyperion 4200 6S packs I have now to the Pulse Ultras. The Hyperion packs are heavy, 666g EACH. I don't have an exact measurement on the 3700s, but they are noticeably lighter in my hands. I will try and take them to work and put them on the scale tomorrow.

Booms are in, and they fit! I just need to mock up the TT. I will have to wait until this weekend to do that. I have a lot of other projects on my hobby bench, 2 of which a buddy is bugging me to finish.

Here are pictures from the dry fit. The TT is not installed, but as you can see, even with the head on the lowest setting available on the stock hub, there is plenty of clearance.

Looking good to having this thing airborne for IRCHA :)

Stretch is complete!! First bench tests of the new boom and tt are great. Ended up extending the stock tt. Only had to extend it 38mm and I found a solid aluminum rod at home depot to use as a brace. Drilled and pinned as well as jb weld. I used 4 tt bearings. Tail is liquid smooth!!

Started the electronics. But it is getting late and I am tired. Will hopefully finish the electronics tomorrow and test fly Monday. Looking good so far!!
