E5 Disk loading - 6s 550 vs. 12s? 600

I'm still trying to decide if I want to go 6s or 12s. If I go 12s and 600 blades it will be with packs that weigh 1100 grams total. If I go with 6s & 550 blades the pack will weight 750 grams. Not too worried about power. I'd like this ship to have a LIGHT disk loading. Which configuration will have the lighter disk loading?

im guessing you might do the math like this..

12s setup:

600mm blade x 2= 1200mm

1100 gram battery weight            1100/1200= approx .92 gram per mm

6s setup:

550mm blade x 2=1100mm
 
750 gram battery weight               750/1100= approx .68 gram per mm


this is just a guess on my part but im thinking the 6s would result in a much lighter disk load even with the smaller mains

It's about the disk area not the linear measurement. EDIT: The math in my ORIGINAL POST here was wrong! be back when I have time to get it right...

After watching Matt's demo flight at Ircha with 6S/120/1100kv I am not 100% sure this will be my setup. Stupid fast, plenty of power.

I'll be going 600 and 12s 3300. Should be great, lower peak amps and better autos. But a 550/6s should be fine too.
It's all about having a choice, excellent Synergy feature IMHO.

If I ever build a Synergy 600 it will be an E5-600 stretch. Should be a much lighter 600 than the E6.

Who knows, maybe i will buy two kits.  Don't let my wife hear me say that.

I will put together a stretch kit for those that want to make the E5 into a 600 class heli. Quite frankly, I'm torn on this subject too.... I really like the way the E5 performs as a 6S setup but I am also a huge fan of the bigger disk. I am going to stretch my E5 here very soon and let you know the results... maybe even a video. Right now I am running the older 4025-1100kv Scorpion which is supposed to be less efficient and less powerful than the new HKIII. I have one of the new motors on the way and will post my results soon. I am not at all disappointed in the performance of the old 4025 motor but if I can get a little more performance and efficiency, I will take it!

Right now I am getting around 4 minutes from a 4400mah 65c TP pack. As you probably know 6S configurations pull a lot of current so I would recommend getting the higher C rated packs. I also run 5000mah packs but had to use my new 5000 packs for my E7 demos at IRCHA this year. I will dismantle one of the packs and make a new video with 6S 5000 packs.

 For Me I am fortunate to have a couple of E6's, I will Fly them as Said configuration, as Well as the E7. Speaking on the Little guy, The Beauty of Matt's Design is the overall versatility of these machines. It reminds me of the old transformer toys growing up.lol  As a consumer in an already tough economy, Money isn't as abundant for some as others, and the Idea of buying one of Two kits available "E" series and being able to go North or South in regards to E5 to E6 and E6 or E7.    If you set the "CORE" components up Meaning the "ESC", "BEC" Batt Packs. then you got it all covered. less of course blades and motor.   This coupled with the performance of these machines, is where the Real Value is. Matt truly put together an ALL STAR LINE UP in regards to the Synergy Brand as well as having the forethought to keep All the kits parts less the N9 (Which wasn't his design) with some differences but for the most part compatible.   And for the record on the mentioned N9 not being Matts design, It was and Still is a Great Kit, He just came in the Synergy Game later and Made it That much Better!!  I can't Wait to see what he has Come up with in regards to that New Design.  If it's only a fraction of what he has come out with thus far, Oh Shit is all I can say!! He's just getting Warmed Up! If we only knew what else is coming . lol.  And lets not forget about the Rail Blades...   Great Job  and Amy!!!
